The Consultation

The initial consultation is our first step in understanding the style and vision for your outdoor living space design, which is the genesis of forming your plan. We identify the elements you would like to see in your new spaces. Some of these spaces may include a terrace, fire feature, swimming pool, or other unique features. This process allows us to place your components within the design.

The Site Analysis

In this phase, a site inventory is conducted which includes on-site measurements and an analysis of existing site conditions. As the client, you should be able to supply a survey of the site and other pertinent information related to the project. Along with your survey, it may also be required to establish site boundaries, grading points, and other data. Once these factors are identified, we examine your existing architecture to ensure continuity and flow.

The Concept Design

A conceptual design is then created by applying landscape design principles to the site analysis and your gathered ideas. The result is a scaled 3D drawing that shows existing structures along with new construction elements, appliances, and even site furnishings. Our design team works hard at creating the perfect environment before one shovel is inserted into the ground.

The Final Design

This is the final stage where the design is formatted into a detailed plan that shows the diagram with a construction overview. We prepare construction drawings suitable for bidding, hardscape layout, planting plans, lighting, etc. Prepare written specifications describing products and methods of installation to communicate the design intent for the structures to be built in each phase.

We are in love with our outdoor living space designed by Duane at VizX. We bought a home that had not been updated since the ‘70s. I reached out to a few designers and knew quickly that Duane was our guy. He listened and understood our preferences, designed an amazing concept, and was accommodating to our changes. The entire project took about 3 months, quick since it was during the pandemic when obtaining hardscaping materials was challenging. Throughout the entire process Duane was there. He introduced us to the contractor that made his designs a reality. There were a few bumps along the way, as is expected in a large undertaking. Duane was quick to help, making sure all issues were addressed to our satisfaction. After experiencing our first winter with the new hardscaping I reached out with a few minor issues and they were fixed in a short timeframe, at no cost to us. Duane stands by his work which is the true measure of a professional. We will be enjoying our yard for years to come!
